Regular Season Round 8: Uppsala KFUM - Eskilstuna 85-51

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked KFUM Uppsala (1-7) smashed at home 10th ranked Eskilstuna (1-7) 85-51 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-51. KFUM Uppsala dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Eskilstuna's 34. They outrebounded Eskilstuna 54-24 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Darecko Rawlins (195-73, college: UMKC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 23 rebounds and Norwegian guard Joakim Hellerstrom (190-87) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Forward Erik Jonsson (203-83) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Robert Norstrom (191-83) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KFUM Uppsala left bottom position moving up to tenth place in North, which they share with defeated Eskilstuna. It was Eskilstuna's sixth loss in a row. KFUM Uppsala will face higher ranked Orongo Dragons (#8) in Sundsvall in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
