Everything could happen in Quebec City, QC at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Rouge et Or and 4th placed Gaiters had identical 0-1 record. This time Rouge et Or used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Lennoxville, QC 86-59 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Rouge et Or. Gaiters was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Bosnian forward Boris Hadzimuratovic (204-91, college: High School) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and swingman Etienne Labrecque (196-86, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Rouge et Or players scored in double figures. Guard Onnex Blackwood (188) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Mitchell Pierman scored 12 points. Gaiters' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Rouge et Or (1-1) left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Acadia. Loser Gaiters still closes the standings with two games lost. Rouge et Or will face league's second-placed Stingers in Montreal, QC in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
