Undefeated Sydney Uni Flames (7-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Logan Thunder (4-3) 74-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Sydney Uni Flames. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 25-19 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Sydney Uni Flames outrebounded Logan Thunder 46-32 including 36 on the defensive glass. International center Cayla Francis (192-89) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Renae Camino (177-86) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. The former international forward Belinda Snell (181-81) produced 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and international guard Alicia Poto (166-78) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Logan Thunder maintains sixth place with 4-3 record. Sydney Uni Flames at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. Logan Thunder are looking forward to face West Coast Waves (#9) in Perth in the next round. Sydney Uni Flames will play at home against the league's second-placed Adelaide Lightning (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
