Regular Season Round 13: Shinshu BW - Miyazaki SS 79-82

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (4-8) edged 4th placed Shinshu BW (6-6) in Nagano 82-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-79. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Miyazaki Shining Suns' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Tyler Hughes (213-84, college: Kansas St.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Miyazaki Shining Suns moved-up to seventh place. Shinshu BW at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Miyazaki Shining Suns will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play on the road against Yokohama BC (#8).
