The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Stingers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Stingers defeated 3rd ranked Rouge et Or in Montreal, QC 88-72. Rouge et Or was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-10 charge of Stingers, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Rouge et Or's 24. Stingers forced 27 Rouge et Or turnovers. It was a good game for guard Decee Krah (180) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Forward Evens Laroche (193) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Stingers' coach John Dore used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Xavier Baribeau (175-87) replied with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Christian Deslauniers-Trottier (188-87) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rouge et Or. Four Rouge et Or players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with UQAM. Rouge et Or at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Cape Breton and McGill. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
