No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Thunderbirds (4-0) crushed 7th ranked Spartans (2-4) in Vancouver, BC 103-70 on Saturday. Thunderbirds dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Spartans' 44. Thunderbirds forced 29 Spartans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Spartans were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international point guard Nathan Yu (189-89) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Kamar Burke (196-86) contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Thunderbirds players scored in double figures. Guard Sean Peter (191) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Evens Laroche (193) added 12 points in the effort for Spartans. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunderbirds have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Spartans dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
