Regular Season Round 6: Memorial - UPEI 83-93

Very predictable result when top-ranked Panthers (4-0) won against 8th ranked Sea Hawks (1-5) in St.John's, NL 93-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Panthers. Sea Hawks was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panthers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a good game for Sudanese forward Manock Lual (198-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Jonathan Cooper (183-88) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Robbie Habib (193-89) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and center Mike Helsby (193) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Sea Hawks. Four Sea Hawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panthers have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Sea Hawks lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with five games lost. Panthers will have a break next round. Sea Hawks will play again at home against the league's leader Panthers (#1) in Charlottetown, PEI.
