Date: November 19, 2011
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Sokhumi (#2) and TSU (#8). TSU was smashed at home by 21 points 81-102 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Sokhumi. TSU managed to win fourth quarter 42-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TSU 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Sokhumi looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. International guard Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Montana St. - Billin, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Tornike Niniashvili (205-82) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mikheil Chitashvili (193-84) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokhumi maintains second position with 5-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Armia. TSU lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Sokhumi are looking forward to face Kutaisi (#4) at home in the next round.
