There was a minor upset when higher ranked Girona FC (4-6) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Lobe Huesca (4-6) 74-61. The game was mostly controlled by Lobe Huesca. Girona FC was better in third quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lithuanian guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) notched 23 points and 4 steals to lead the effort and forward Diego Sanchez (198-78) supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American power forward Thomas Coleman (205-88, college: N.Carolina A&T) did not help to save the game for Girona FC. Forward Sergi Pino (196-87) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Lobe Huesca moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Girona FC. Lobe Huesca will play against Caceres 2016 (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Girona FC will play against CB Tarragona 2017 (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
