They outrebounded Mitsubishi Dolphins 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. At the losing side American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third place with 10-4 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Loser Mitsubishi Dolphins dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Hokkaido L. (#7) in Saporro in the next round. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
