Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Tbilisi: Armia (#1) and Samedicino-Academia (#6). Armia (5-0) won against visiting Samedicino-Academia (3-3) 99-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samedicino-Academia. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 52-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Will Thomas (203-86) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) chipped in 20 points. Five Armia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mikheil Chochua (193-87) who recorded 18 points and center Beka Bekauri (207-91) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Armia have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. Loser Samedicino-Academia keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with MIA Tbilisi. Armia's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena STU.
