Regular Season Round 9: Le Puy - Sorgues 74-80

Very expected game when 13th ranked Le Puy ASMB (3-6) lost to sixth ranked Sorgues (7-2) in Le Puy en Velay 74-80. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Le Puy ASMB won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sorgues shot 61.7 percent from the field. Strangely Le Puy ASMB outrebounded Sorgues 34-22 including a 16-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Le Puy ASMB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sorgues have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Le Puy ASMB at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Sorgues' next round opponent will be Rueil (#17) which should be an easy win for them. Le Puy ASMB will play against Chartres (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
