Regular Season Round 9: Nice - Tarbes 74-57

Nice can celebrate finally their first win this season after eight consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Tarbes (5-4) 74-57. Nice forced 24 Tarbes turnovers. It was a good game for Senegalese center Jeanne Senghor (191-82) who led her team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Estonian swingman Merike Anderson (180-81, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 13 points and 4 steals for the winners. International center Ana-Maria Cata-Chitiga (195-89) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and international guard Paoline Salagnac (176-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tarbes. Newly promoted Nice maintains fourteenth place with 1-8 record. Tarbes at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Mondeville and Arras. Nice will play against higher ranked Nantes Reze (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tarbes will play against Villeneuve D'Asco (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
