Regular Season Round 8: Ammerud - Gimle 64-50

Very significant was Ammerud's (#3, 5-2) victory against 4th ranked Gimle (4-4) 64-50. Gimle was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 24-5 charge of Ammerud, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gimle to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Ammerud forced 23 Gimle turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Marianne Sand (183-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and international center Tina Nesse (184-84) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Five Ammerud players scored in double figures. Ammerud's coach Patxi Exposito used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (-93) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Ammerud (5-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Ullern. Gimle at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Ammerud's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Oslo Tigers.
