Regular Season Round 6: Netanya - Hapoel Holon 75-98

Bottom-ranked Elitzur Netanya is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Hapoel Holon (3-3) 98-75. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Holon. Elitzur Netanya was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Holon made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Elitzur Netanya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Ron Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) who scored 27 points. The former international point guard Moran Roth (183-82) chipped in 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) who recorded 16 points and international forward Lior Hakmon (202-85, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Hapoel Holon and four Elitzur Netanya players scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Elitzur Netanya at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Hapoel Holon's next round opponent will be Maccabi Ashdod (#10) at home. Elitzur Netanya will play against Maccabi Rishon in Rishon Le-Zion and hopes to get finally their first victory.
