There was an upset when higher ranked Air Avellino (4-3) was defeated at home by seventeenth ranked Novipiu CM (1-6) 91-82 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 33-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Mustafa Shakur (190-84, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points. Naturalized American power forward David Chiotti (206-84, college: N.Mexico, agency: Court Side) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Linton Johnson (203-80, college: Tulane, agency: Priority Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American-Spanish guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville) scored 25 points. Novipiu CM left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Banca Tercas. Loser Air Avellino keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Novipiu CM will face higher ranked Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#15) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
