BJ League top team - Akita Happinets (10-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat seventh ranked Niigata Albirex (4-6) 105-89. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Michael Gardener (182-81, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 20 points and 9 assists. Five Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Loser Niigata Albirex dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Akita Happinets will meet at home Hamamatsu Phoenix (#4) in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Iwate Big Bulls (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
