Regular Season Round 8: Brahe Basket - Srbija 81-75

There was a change at the Basketettan leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Srbija (7-1). They were defeated by fifth ranked Brahe Basket (5-2) 81-75 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Srbija. Srbija trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-81 at the end of the game. Brahe Basket forced 19 Srbija turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Nigerian forward Kevin Ukhagbe (198-85, college: Bethany (KS)) who added 9 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Brahe Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Serbian forward Nino Zurovac (202-80) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ted Cedermarker (182-79) scored 17 points. Four Srbija players scored in double figures. Brahe Basket moved-up to fourth place in South. Srbija at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Malbas. Srbija will play next round against league's leader Malbas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Malmo - Malbas. Brahe Basket will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Malbas in Malmo.
