Regular Season Round 7: Grodno-93 - Impuls BGUIR 82-59

There was no surprise when 5th ranked BGUIR-RTI (2-4) was crushed on the road by second ranked Grodno-93 (6-1) 82-59 on Thursday. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BGUIR-RTI's 32. Grodno-93 forced 21 BGUIR-RTI turnovers. The former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-75) fired 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Evgeni Ivanov (202-84) chipped in 15 points. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Grodno-93's coach Andrei Vasileuka felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Genniadiy Zakhar (198-92) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Evgeniy Sugoniako (198-92) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Grodno-93 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader Minsk-2006. BGUIR-RTI at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Grodno-93 are looking forward to face Rubon (#4) in Vitebsk in the next round. BGUIR-RTI's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Minsk-2006.
