There was a surprise result in Kelowna, BC where fourteenth ranked Heat (1-4) edged higher ranked Cougars (2-4) 78-76 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 25-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Heat forced 23 Cougars turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Simon Pelland who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and Yassine Ghomari who added 16 points during the contest. Four Heat players scored in double figures. Forward Connor Burns (201) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Paul Gareau (201) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Heat left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Cougars dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Heat will face Bobcats (#13) in Brandon, MB in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against Wolfpack (#8) in Kamloops, BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
