The game between closely ranked teams ended with top-ranked Golden Hawks' (5-0) home victory over 3rd ranked Voyageurs (1-4) 98-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Hawks. Voyageurs was better in fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Golden Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Kale Harrison (196) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 rebounds and center Matthew Buckley (215) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Golden Hawks players scored in double figures. Alex Ratte responded with 28 points and guard Isiah Pasquale (191) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Golden Hawks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Carleton and Lakehead. Voyageurs lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Golden Hawks will face Lions (#8) in Toronto, ON in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Voyageurs will play on the road against Warriors (#5) in Waterloo, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
