We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eleventh ranked Ancona (3-5) outleveled at home 10th ranked Pomezia (2-5) 82-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ancona. Pomezia was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Ancona forced 21 Pomezia turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian swingman Daniela Georgieva (184-86) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Laura Gelfusa (186-79) scored 9 points. Ancona moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with Napoli S.Dike. Loser Pomezia dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Ancona will face higher ranked T. La Spezia (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pomezia will play against S.E.Battipaglia (#6).
