Bottom-ranked Volcanes (0-29) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 110-45 loss to fifth ranked Huracanes (18-11) in Tampico. The game without a history. Huracanes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Volcanes to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Huracanes held Volcanes to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Volcanes 56-22 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Huracanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Volcanes' players. It was a good game for American center Albert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Five Huracanes players scored in double figures. Huracanes' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Larry Morinia (180-80, college: Montana St., agency: ProSportsCareers) replied with 26 points and Michaels Antony added 5 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Volcanes. Huracanes maintains fifth position with 18-11 record. Volcanes at the other side still closes the standings. Huracanes will play against Abejas (#9) in Guanajuato in the next round. Volcanes will play at home against the league's leader Fuerza Regia (#1) in Monterrey and hope to get finally their first victory.
