Regular Season Round 9: Lethbridge - Victoria 59-90
Date: November 26, 2011
Not a big story in a game in Lethbridge, AB where 6th ranked Pronghorn (4-4) was outplayed by leader Vikies (8-0) 90-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vikies. Pronghorn was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vikies shot 21 for 29 from the free-throw line, while Pronghorn only scored four points from the stripe. Vikies forced 19 Pronghorn turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Vikies especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 73.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Ryan Mackinnon (193-89) who scored 23 points. Michael Acheampong chipped in 14 points. Five Vikies players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Dominyc Coward (198) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and Logan Reiter added 13 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Vikies. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Loser Pronghorn keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
