Leader Aishin Sea Horses delivered the thirteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Toshiba Thunders (2-14) 75-70 in Kanagawa. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Toshiba Thunders won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) chipped in 14 points. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yuta Miyanga (183-81) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Toshiba Thunders' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-3 record. Loser Toshiba Thunders stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round where they are favorite. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka.
