Lechugueros (#11) forced the game against Abejas (#10) into an overtime, but lost by three points 94-97. The game took place in Leon. But the guests from Guanajuato were better at the end. Lechugueros were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 18-16 third quarter run of Abejas. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-10. American forward Lorrenzo Wade (198-85, college: San Diego St.) notched a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and American-Jamaican forward Mattis McHugh (198-84, college: S.Florida) supported him with 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 18 points and 17 assists by American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) did not help to save the game for Lechugueros. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) added 20 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Abejas (12-16) moved-up to ninth place. Lechugueros at the other side keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Abejas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Huracanes (#5) in Tampico and it may be quite challenging game. Lechugueros will play at home against Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
