Bottom-ranked Inea AZS (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-47 loss to fifth ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (7-3) in Poznan on Saturday evening. The game without a history. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Inea AZS to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Inea AZS 45-18 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rwandan-American center Tatum Brown (193-78, college: Arizona) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Alli Smalley (172-89, college: Auburn) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski's coach Dariusz Maciejewski felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Eliza Horodenska responded with 20 points and center Daria Marciniak (188-94) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ROW Rybnik. Loser Inea AZS still closes the standings with ten games lost. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will meet at home league's leader Wisla Can-Pak in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Inea AZS will play against Widzew (#10) in Lodz and hopes to get finally their first victory.
