No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rivas Ecopolis (6-1) beat at home 12th ranked Navarra Pamplona (1-6) 70-61 on Saturday. Navarra Pamplona trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 18-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-70 at the end of the game. Rivas Ecopolis made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for international center Laura Nicholls (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Asjha Jones (188-80, college: Connecticut) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Rivas Ecopolis players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Navarra Pamplona. Rivas Ecopolis maintains third place with 6-1 record having just -3 point less than leader Perfumerias. Navarra Pamplona lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Rivas Ecopolis will face bottom-ranked Ibiza (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Navarra Pamplona will play against Real Celta Vigo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
