No shocking result in a game when second ranked TM Hotel Cork (7-1) defeated at home 6th ranked Waterford Wildcats (3-5) 73-61 on Saturday. TM Hotel Cork forced 25 Waterford Wildcats turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Niamh Dwyer (176-82, college: Monmouth) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and the former international guard Claire Rockall (178-90, college: Iowa St.) who added 15 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Guard Jenny Coady (-82) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-90) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Waterford Wildcats players scored in double figures. TM Hotel Cork maintains second position with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader UL Aughinish, which they share with DCU Mercy. Waterford Wildcats at the other side keep the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Meteors. TM Hotel Cork will meet 11890 Killester (#4) on the road in the next round.
