Regular Season Round 7: Caja Rural - Ibiza 62-56

Bottom-ranked Ibiza is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to eleventh ranked Cajarural (2-5) 62-56. It looked good early as Ibiza took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cajarural had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Ibiza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-62. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ibiza to just 6 points in third quarter. Cajarural made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Finnish center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, college: Xavier) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cajarural players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international swingman Silvia Morales (170-79) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and Slovenian center Sandra Pirsic (195-84) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Cajarural moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hondar.-Irun. Ibiza lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Cajarural will play against higher ranked Mann Filter (#9) in Zaragoza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ibiza will play at home against Rivas Ecopolis (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
