Regular Season Round 17: JX Sunflowers - Chanson V-M 71-55

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (14-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Chanson V-M (7-10) in Kashiwa 71-55. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-55. JX Sunflowers outrebounded Chanson V-M 48-22 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. International point guard Asami Yoshida (165-87) nailed 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Oh Okami (170-82) accounted for 14 points. Swingman Key Miho (176-85) came up with 17 points and international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Chanson V-M in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-3 record, which they share with Toyota A. Loser Chanson V-M dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K.. JX Sunflowers will again meet Chanson V-M (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Chanson V-M will have a break next round.
