An interesting game for Toyota A. (14-3) which played road game in Kariya against 3rd placed Denso Iris (11-6). Second ranked Toyota A. had an easy win 60-38. The game without a history. Toyota A. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Denso Iris to just 5 points in second quarter. The former international forward Kazumi Suzuki (177-86) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. International center Maki Takada (183-89) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Akiko Obata (165-81) scored 4 points and 6 rebounds. Toyota A. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Denso Iris at the other side keep the third place with six games lost. Toyota A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Toyota A. in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
