There was no surprise when 8th ranked Oita Heat Devils (3-11) were defeated on the road by second ranked Okinawa GK (11-3) 91-80 on Sunday. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) fired 23 points for the winners. Guard Narito Namizato (175-89) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Okinawa GK's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Okinawa GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Oita Heat Devils lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Okinawa GK will face league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oita Heat Devils will play against Yokohama BC (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
