Very important is a home loss of second ranked Toyota Alvark (12-4) against fourth ranked Panasonic Trians (7-9) on Sunday night. Host Toyota Alvark was defeated by Panasonic Trians in a tough game in Fuchu 71-75. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. International guard Keijuro Matsui (188-85, college: Columbia) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Panasonic Trians went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Hokkaido L. Loser Toyota Alvark keeps the second place with four games lost. Panasonic Trians will meet at home Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play against Tochigi Brex (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
