No shocking result in a game when first ranked Joensuun Kataja (11-3) smashed at home 7th ranked UU-Korihait (6-8) 95-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. UU-Korihait was better in second period 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joensuun Kataja made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tennessee-Martin, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Sami Lehtoranta (205-79) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Joensuun Kataja's coach Jukka Toijala felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
