Fourth-ranked Axemen (2-3) made lots of trouble for leader Panthers (6-0) in Charlottetown, PEI on Sunday. Panthers managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-64. Panthers forced 20 Axemen turnovers. Donathan Moss stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Terrence Brown (186) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was international forward Owen Klassen (208-91) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Anthony Ashe (193) scored 14 points. Axemen's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Panthers. They maintain first place with 6-0 record, which they share with Laurier and Carleton. Loser Axemen keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with St.Mary's. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
