Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (1-13) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Niigata Albirex (6-6) 72-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Iwate Big Bulls was better in fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 22 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. American power forward LaShawn Malloy (209-84, college: New Orleans) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and guard Yoshiaki Yamamoto (-82) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Five Niigata Albirex and four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Vlasios Vlaikidis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Niigata Albirex moved-up to sixth place. Iwate Big Bulls lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face higher ranked Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Iwate Big Bulls will play on the road against Takamatsu FA (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
