The most exciting game of round 18 in the WJBL took place in Nagoya. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Mitsubishi K. (7-11) to fourth ranked Fujitsu RW (11-7) 65-62 in the game for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-62. Swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and guard Yasuko Hashimoto (163-82) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Mitsubishi K.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujitsu RW have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-7 record. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Chanson V-M. Fujitsu RW are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Aishin Wings (#8) in Anjo in the next round. Mitsubishi K. will play on the road against Airlines R. in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
