Regular Season Round 9: Northland - Telge 68-58

Date: November 28, 2011
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Telge (7-1) in Lulea on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Northland (9-0) 68-58. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Telge. It was a good game for the former international forward Anna Barthold (183-80, college: St.Peter's, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alexandra Ferm (173-86) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Northland players scored in double figures. Forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Kenyan swingman Salome Kabengano (177-92) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Telge. Northland have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Defending champion Telge keeps the second position with one game lost. Northland are looking forward to face Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Telge will play against Mark Basket (#5) in Kinna and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
