Regular Season Round 14: Solna - Sundsvall 78-77

The most exciting game of round 14 in the Basketligan took place in Solna. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Sundsvall Dragons (8-5) to sixth ranked Solna Vikings (7-6) 78-77 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sundsvall Dragons. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Solna Vikings had a 37-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Icelandic guard Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) who scored 28 points. American guard Tyler Laser (185, college: E.Illinois, agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Icelandic power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Icelandic guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Solna Vikings have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Sundsvall Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Solna Vikings are looking forward to face 08 Stockholm (#7) on the road in the next round. Sundsvall Dragons will play against Uppsala Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
