Another exciting game where second ranked Beer Yaakov (7-1) edged by two points one of their biggest challengers Hapoel Tel-Aviv (6-2) 79-77. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 18-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Naturalized Russian guard Igor Simin (197-84) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. American Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Corry Carr (192-75, college: Texas Tech) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Beer Yaakov keeps a position of league leader. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Kiryat Tivon. Beer Yaakov will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Afula (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
