Very important is a road loss of second ranked Shandong Bulls (3-2) against eighth ranked Liaoning Hunters (3-2) on Tuesday night. Visiting Shandong Bulls were defeated by Liaoning Hunters in a tough game in Yingkou 87-91. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shandong Bulls won fourth quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liaoning Hunters forced 26 Shandong Bulls turnovers. American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and international point guard QinPeng Zhang (188-81) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists. Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Alan Anderson (198-82, college: Michigan St., agency: Priority Sports) added 18 points respectively for Shandong Bulls in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Liaoning Hunters moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Shandong Bulls. Liaoning Hunters will meet Foshan (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shandong Bulls will play against Guandong Tigers (#5) in Dongguan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
