KML top team - Tartu Ulikool (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Tln Kalev (3-6) 105-83. The game was mostly controlled by Tartu Ulikool. Tln Kalev managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tartu Ulikool dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tln Kalev's 44. Tartu Ulikool forced 20 Tln Kalev turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Tln Kalev helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Bill Amis (205-87, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International forward Tanel Kurbas (197-88) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Tartu Ulikool players scored in double figures. American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Russian center Aleksei Fedortchuk (210-86, agency: RIZO) added 20 points in the effort for Tln Kalev. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tartu Ulikool have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Tln Kalev lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. Tartu Ulikool are looking forward to face Rapla (#4) on the road in the next round. Tln Kalev will play against Rapla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
