The most important game in the last round took place in Helsinki between second ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (10-5) and fifth ranked Torpan Pojat (8-6) on Wednesday night. Kauhajoen Karhu was crushed by Torpan Pojat on the road 83-105. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kauhajoen Karhu. Torpan Pojat forced 19 Kauhajoen Karhu turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Forward Carl Lindbom (204-91) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Clevin Hannah (180-87, college: Wichita St., agency: Court Side) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kauhajoen Karhu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat maintains fifth position with 8-6 record. Kauhajoen Karhu at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. Torpan Pojat are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Namika Lahti (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against Tampereen Pyrinto (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
