Very important is a road loss of second ranked Guandong Tigers (3-2) against fifteenth ranked Qingdao Double Star (2-3) on Wednesday night. Visiting Guandong Tigers were defeated by Qingdao Double Star in Qingdao 104-94. Guandong Tigers were ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 31-19 charge of Qingdao Double Star, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Guandong Tigers 36-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Qingdao Double Star shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) stepped up and scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Palestinian power forward Sani Sakakini (203-88) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and international forward FangYu Zhu (201-83) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Qingdao Double Star moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and TianJin R. Guandong Tigers at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Qingdao Double Star will play against DongGuan Leopards (#16) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Guandong Tigers will play against Shandong Bulls (#7) in Jinan and hope to get back on the winning track.
