Very important is a home loss of second ranked Boras Basket (9-5) against eighth ranked 08 Stockholm (6-6) on Thursday night. Host Boras Basket was defeated by 08 Stockholm in a tough game in Boras 88-96. It looked good early as Boras Basket took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then 08 Stockholm had a 29-21 second period charge getting the lead and Boras Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-96. 08 Stockholm dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Boras Basket's 38 and made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The former international center Johan Akesson (210-84, agency: Warren Sports International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Joakim Blom (211-76, agency: Court Side) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. 08 Stockholm's coach Tommie Hansson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Lebanese-American guard Omar Krayem (185-86, college: Cal.Baptist) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and the former international center Michael Palm (208-79, college: W.Washington, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Boras Basket. Five 08 Stockholm and four Boras Basket players scored in double figures. 08 Stockholm moved-up to seventh place. Boras Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with LF Basket. 08 Stockholm will play against higher ranked Solna Vikings (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Boras Basket will play against KFUM Jamtland and hopes to get back on the winning track.
