Bottom-ranked Sozh Gomel (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to third ranked SBK Osipovichi (4-3) 108-50 on Friday evening. The game without a history. SBK Osipovichi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sozh Gomel to just 4 points in third quarter. SBK Osipovichi dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sozh Gomel's 44. SBK Osipovichi forced 27 Sozh Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 49-32 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. SBK Osipovichi looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sozh Gomel's players. The best player for the winners was guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Guard Dmitriy Zaitsev (190-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five SBK Osipovichi players scored in double figures. Forward Dzianis Kasenkau (198-92) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Yahor Patupchyk (186-94) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Sozh Gomel's coach Andrey Chvankov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. SBK Osipovichi maintains third position with 4-3 record having five points less than leader Minsk-2006. Loser Sozh Gomel still closes the standings with six games lost. SBK Osipovichi will meet league's second-placed Grodno-93 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sozh Gomel will play against Minsk-2006 II (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
