Regular Season Round 6: Foshan LL - Liaoning H. 111-108

A very interesting game took place in Foshan. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (3-3) to fourteenth ranked Foshan (2-3) 111-108 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Liaoning Hunters. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-28. But Liaoning Hunters won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Foshan made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Liaoning Hunters helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Filipino power forward Marcus Douthit (210-80, college: Providence, agency: Edge Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Zhi Luo (190-86) chipped in 28 points. Four Foshan players scored in double figures. Foshan's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) who recorded 29 points and guard Ming Yang (193-85) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Foshan moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shanghai S. Liaoning Hunters at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Foshan's next round opponent will be higher ranked Guandong Tigers (#3) in Dongguan and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Liaoning Hunters will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks.
