NM1 top team - Charleville-Mezieres (9-2) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat seventh ranked Roche (7-4) 95-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Roche. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 34-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a quality performance for American forward Corey Belser (200-82, college: San Diego) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Fabien Calvez (187-84, college: Evansville) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Benjamin Thomas (181-82) came up with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Aurelien Toto N'Kote (194-79) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Roche in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Charleville-Mezieres. They maintain first place with 9-2 record, which they share with St Quentin. Roche at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Charleville-Mezieres will meet at home CFBB (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Roche will play against Sorgues (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
