Important game to mention about took place in Melbourne. First ranked Sydney Uni Flames (8-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Bulleen Boomers (6-3) 90-88 on Friday evening. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-13 Bulleen Boomers' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 90-88 at the end of the game. The former international forward Belinda Snell (181-81) stepped up and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Amy Denson (186-84, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international center Liz Cambage (203-91) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and international guard Rachel Jarry (185-91) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Five Sydney Uni Flames and four Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. Bulleen Boomers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Sydney Uni Flames went down to second position due to points difference. Defending champion Bulleen Boomers dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will play against Canberra Capitals (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bulleen Boomers will play against Bendigo Spirit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
